Marni the most talked about brand of the first quarter of 2012 has made the news all over the web again. This time the quirky and cool label ventured into the world of product design. In collaboration with ex-prisoners from Colombia they have crafted 100 unique chairs.
The chairs are made of metal frames and multi-coloured PVC threads. They are a reinterpretation of traditional family seats from Colombia with the stamp and colour blocking that is characteristic to Marni. The chairs along with a video and a photographic project by Francesco Jodice are beying presented this weekend at Salone Del Mobile in Milan. They will then tour various Marni boutiques worldwide.
The money raised from the project will be donated to the institute ICAM of Milan. An institute that helps imprisoned mothers and their children. They help these children to live in a family environment.
A great charitable project that combines amazing craftsmanship with product design.
